I'm a content strategy leader with 25+ years of experience creating user-focused online experiences, through verbal brand identity and messaging platforms, digital and UX content strategy, information architecture, taxonomy, and copywriting. I currently work as a UX content strategy manager at Google.
My career has combined journalism and editorial, copywriting, web and marketing project management, creative direction, brand management and entrepreneurism. Here are a few highlights:
Agency founder
I'm the former founder and president of Suite Seven, a boutique content strategy agency based in the San Francisco Bay Area. I've worked on large-scale marketing, communication and content initiatives for McKesson, Microsoft, AT&T, Silicon Valley Bank, Kay Jewelers, Autodesk, Salesforce.com, Glatfelter, Neenah Paper, and many other B2B and B2C companies.
User experience for Big Tech
I joined tech as a UX content designer in 2015 at Facebook, where I worked on a variety of initiatives related to site integrity and transparency, including company-wide work on clarifying measurement (for ads and creator content) and the company's first-ever Community Standards Enforcement report. In 2019 I moved to Google, where I currently lead a team of UX content designers and technical writers working on Google Search's generative AI experiences.
Community
I've been active in my professional communities, serving as president of San Francisco International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) in 2014-2015 and co-founder of the San Francisco Content Strategy Meetup. I'm currently VP of Ohio University's E.W. Scripps School of Journalism Alumni & Friends organization.
Writing and speaking
I'm the author of three non-fiction books and a frequent writer and speaker on content-related topics. I'm also a fiction writer.
